Vor einiger Zeit sagte mir ein weitgereister Schweizer Freund: „Bern ist überhaupt die schönste Stadt der Welt“, womit er nicht unrecht hat, denn schon
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe beschrieb 1779 Bern folgendermassen: „…sie ist die schönste, die wir gesehen haben in bürgerlicher Gleichheit eins wie das andere gebaut…“. Und 1983 wurde Berns Altstadt in die Liste des UNESCO Welterbes eingetragen.Bern hat heute ca. 145.000 Einwohner und ist mit seiner unversehrten Altstadt, Laubengängen und vielen individuellen Geschäften und Antiquitätenläden, Kunstgalerien etc. wirklich bezaubernd. Auf dem Wege ins Perigord kleiner Aufenthalt in der Mittelalterlichen Stadt oberhalb von Carcassonne. In der Burg ist ein wunderbares „Hotel du Cité“ der Gruppe Sofitel.

Durch einen Zufall fiel mir das Buch von Martin Walker „Provokateure“ in der Bibliothek im Kaminraum des „Chateau de Germigney“ in Port Lesney (Relais&Châteaux) im französischen Jura in die Hände.

Die Geschichten um Bruno le Commissaire in Saint Denis haben mich so gefesselt, dass ich ein Buch nach dem anderen kaufte und es nicht erwarten konnte bis Martin Walker wieder ein neues Buch veröffentlichte.Diese Bücher haben von allem etwas: es sind spannende Krimis, ausgezeichnete Recherchen hinsichtlich historischer Ereignisse, Geschichte und Kultur bis hin zu den Höhlen von Lascaux von vor 150 Millionen Jahren!

Amüsant ist es immer wieder zu lesen, wie Bruno zur Entspannung oder für seine zahlreichen Freund/innen in der Küche steht und was Leckeres zaubert, schnell in den Garten huscht und die Kräuter frisch schneidet, dazu einen erlesenen Wein öffnet und klassische Musik dazu hört.

Wo ich gehört habe, dass Martin Walker auch ein Kochbuch verfasst hat wurde ich natürlich echt neugierig und habe mir das herrliche Kochbuch  „Brunos Kochbuch“ gekauft. Dieses Kochbuch reist mit mir und es gibt kaum ein Rezept welches ich noch nicht ausprobiert und auch wiederholt gekocht habe. At my last visit to London – which is always so inspiring and joyful – , I went to see the most impressive exhibition of Huawei at the SAATCHI Gallery From Selfie to Self  Expression.

With joined forces of Saatchi Gallery and Huawei offers artists, photographers and enthusiasts around the globe a chance to show their most creative selfies internationally.

Nigel Hurst, CEO, and his team selected a shortlist of ten to have their selfies showcased at the Saatchi gallery and these winners receive a Huawei P10 Smartphone. On top  the overall winner will have a all expenses trip to join a Leica Photography Ambassador on an international photo shoot assignment.

The winner is Dawn Wooley.…………..

Saint Remy de Provence

A little secret in Saint Rémy de Provence…..Le Mas des Carassins,

the friendly, welcoming and cosy hotel at its best!

If you should visit Saint Rémy de Provence and you need a place to stay… I definitely recommend the small ***hotel Le Mas des Carassins. The owners Pierre and Michel are extremely friendly and helpful! They work with a lot of passion, enthusiasm and are full of energy. You feel like coming into a friend’s home!

lovely little areas with beautiful garden benches and chairs, al fresco dining in summer, in winter in a cosy and nicely decorated dining room. The young staff is multilingual, educated, well and efficient.
