Saint Remy de Provence

A little secret in Saint Rémy de Provence…..Le Mas des Carassins,

the friendly, welcoming and cosy hotel at its best!

If you should visit Saint Rémy de Provence and you need a place to stay… I definitely recommend the small ***hotel Le Mas des Carassins. The owners Pierre and Michel are extremely friendly and helpful! They work with a lot of passion, enthusiasm and are full of energy. You feel like coming into a friend’s home!

The hotel is in the midst of a large garden with wonderful plants, flowers and trees two swimming pools,

Fountain in the Park

lovely little areas with beautiful garden benches and chairs, al fresco dining in summer, in winter in a cosy and nicely decorated dining room. The young staff is multilingual, educated, well and efficient.

Furthermore Pierre & Michel are art collectors and their art objects you will find hidden all over the garden. The illumination at night is very romantic… and I am so fond of the lavender plants, which fragrance is just what belongs to the Provence.

Altogether 24 rooms, some spacious, some small. A gated parking area, absolutely secure. The big deal is the rate which includes

breakfast and dinner (4-5 courses) wine comes extra. The wine list is carefully chosen by Pierre and Michel. I recommend the fabulous red wine “Chateau Romanin” of 2006.

They proposed to me to visit this Chateau which is at approx. 15 minutes drive from the hotel. It has a very nice sales room and behind you find that famous “The cathedral” for wine tasting. I was flabbergasted when I entered this high room knocked into the rocks – what a beautiful atmosphere.

I thought that the wines are a little bit expensive, but also I must admit that every drop is worth its penny!

The hotel is in walking distance from the picturesque  little town center. There you will find all you need, nice little boutiques, cafés, restaurants, lavender everywhere and the typical Provence pottery and material for curtains, beds and cushions.

When you stay only overnight, do take some time to stroll through the little town in the morning before your trip goes on… you will not regret it!
